Ana Yanez, our school social worker, and Mr. Cruz, our principal, hosted a welcoming Coffee and Muffins workshop that provided families with an opportunity to share their experiences, offer ideas, and ask questions or express any concerns. Their efforts helped strengthen the connection between home and school by fostering open communication, building trust, and ensuring families feel heard, valued, and supported as part of our school community.
In Ms. Pergola’s Pre-K classroom, families were welcomed to share a special meal or snack that represented their culture, creating meaningful opportunities for cultural sharing and family engagement. The children especially enjoyed learning about and creating a traditional Dominican treat alongside a family member, celebrating diversity and strengthening the connection between home and school.

Passaic Public Schools kicked off its districtwide Saturday ESL program for parents and guardians! Classes are held at School 6, where families came together excited and eager to learn English. The program helps parents build practical English skills and strengthen connections with their children’s schools. Through everyday conversations and class activities, participants practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Lessons use textbooks, workbooks, and digital resources to support learning in class and at home. Childcare is provided to support their participation.
Friday, October 9th, Mayor Lora and members from Passaic City Hall spoke to Passaic High School seniors about civic engagement. Students had an opportunity to register to vote and to apply to work on upcoming election days at polling locations around the city of Passaic and the county.
Students in Mrs. Diehl-Miranda’s class are exploring the artistic style of renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama through a festive fall pumpkin-inspired art experience! Inspired by Kusama’s signature polka dots and bold patterns, students are using their creativity and imagination to transform pumpkins into unique works of art.

This week in Prep, Physics students used Slinkies to learn about wave behavior. They modeled how waves travel through Slinkies to learn about waves in order to explain seismic waves that cause earthquakes.
